More Songs Were Written

So where do we go from here? Do I write a book about Doug and let his fans read about his growing up or do I just let everything sit silently? Doug has other copywritten songs that haven't been put out to the public yet, do we proceed in doing so? This talented young man had so many things to offer, should we show it all or let it lie in peace?

  1. I think the music should be released. I was a close friend of Doug's back then. I have no doubt that he would have become a superstar music producer / artist had he been stricken with MS. He even played on some of my songs. He was extremely talented. We should talk sometime.

    Regards,
    Mark

  2. Hello!

I wanted to write and tell you about a new website for artists, musicians, fashion designers, and filmmakers: www.PutItOn.com. I've been using the site as an artist and have my work there, and am trying to support it because I believe in it. Basically, the site allows artists from all over the world to connect, display their portfolios, and sell their work (with NO commission taken!). The site gives artists a FREE gigabyte of space to showcase their portfolios, allows you to stream audio and video works, lets you create live personal broadcasts, and translates any writing into ten different languages. If you could take the time to visit the site, and if you like it too, let your readers know about it, and even sign up yourself or link to it on your site it would be greatly appreciated! We are trying to make a go of helping out artists everywhere and are trying to get the word out, so please help us out if you like the site after checking it out! Thank you!

    All the best,
    Sarah at PutItOn.com

    Yes Debbie,
Doug was truly a genius. My name is Jerry Moates and Doug was one of my best friends back in the old High school day's and a few years after. Doug and I bonded through music.
I was a total Doug(never knew him as Sunbelt)
fan from day 1.Everything he did amazed me.
His outrageous artwork, incredable keyboard skills(he could play Styx's/Fooling Yourself at 78 speed on the record player, it blew my mind)photographer, drummer he could do anything. He also was the first person I knew that had a home computer. He was way ahead of his time.He got me in my first band. There was no doubt in my mind he was going to be famous. I was so proud for him to be my friend. His was one of the saddest stories in my whole life. I moved around for awhile and Doug moved away and I lost touch with him.
It was truly a sad day when I learned of his
passing. The years I got to spend with him I consider a great gift.

  6. I am Doug's father. I think his music should be out there for everyone to enjoy free. I knew that if Doug had lived, he would have accomplished good things. A parent never gets over losing a child and I miss him every day.

  7. Hi, my name is Edward and I am one of the owners of I Venti d'Azzurro Records ( http://www.iventirecords.com ) and Radio Stad Den Haag ( http://www.radiostaddenhaag.com ). On our radiostation we play Spin It a lot. Last year the song ended number 5 in our annual Top 100, which is voted by our listeners. The next Top 100 will be broadcast on 1 January 2011 live, starting at 13:00 Central European Time and Spin It is doing well so far in the charts. You can send in your Top 10 until Friday 31 Descember noon (C.E.T.).

Anyway, my record company releases vintage Italo, Disco and Hi NRG on vinyl. We just released a new record for Trans-X and also work with people like Paul Parker and many big names in Italo Disco. We are certainly interested in releasing some unreleased stuff of your brother. Please contact me via info@iventirecords.com (please direct your mail to Edward) and maybe we can work something out.

    Kind regards,
    Edward
