Doug And His Music While Growing Up

Doug was a very inquisitive boy growing up and was extremely multi-talented. He was very much into music, learning how to play the drums as a young child, maybe because most of our family was into music of some kind, but Doug wanted to do it all, and as he grew up, he did.....from learning the drums, playing the organ, learning guitar and then the synthesizer. We always had an organ in our home because our mother played as well as my sister and I.
During Doug's junior year, he played the synthesizers for the Dickinson High School band in "Star Wars". Doug was very much into art and drawing as well. Honestly, he was a genius because he seemed to know things that were beyond the normal things in life and I can also say that he was a perfectionist in what he did.

Artwork

I know that I do not write much in this blog, and there's really so much to tell. I want to post some pictures of some of Doug's artwork and just haven't gotten around to getting it posted. Please forgive me while I get some of this done. This blog is going slow, please be patient with me.

More Songs Were Written

So where do we go from here? Do I write a book about Doug and let his fans read about his growing up or do I just let everything sit silently? Doug has other copywritten songs that haven't been put out to the public yet, do we proceed in doing so? This talented young man had so many things to offer, should we show it all or let it lie in peace?

Spin It......Alive Even Nearly 30 Years Later.

Thinking back about my brother, he was SUCH a genious. He just knew how to do so many things. He composed "Spin It" never even knowing that nearly 30 years later, it would be all over the internet for everyone to enjoy.

Discovering Doug's" Spin It"

Coming home from a long drive of over 1100 miles, crying and upset that my mother had passed so quickly, I started thinking about the huge discovery that my mom had hidden in her locked safe, so many momentos that she cherished. Among some of those items, we discovered were many of our brother, Doug's possessions: one of those things was the copyright to his song called "Spin It". Also among those prized possessions were his copies of his song, his pride and joy, the record that he worked so hard to produce. Wrapped delicately, put away with much love and care, mom held those things so precious to her. She lost her only son, a son that brought her so much joy. Our dad, my sister, family and I have missed him so much.
